Breakfast for his mate

Mrs. House Wren is now sitting on some eggs in the nesting box( shaped like a pine tree) just outside the kitchen window. I've watched her singing mate bringing her juicy bugs all day long with complete dedication. They are both totally okay with us puttering around the nest box and sitting right in front of it  in our chairs on the patio. Every now and then she would fly out for a bit, but he was always there waiting when she returned. His songs are so cheerful and remind me of the incredible birdsongs we heard on the Irish west coast, an unforgettable concert everyday.

For the Record,
This day came in dry after a rainy night. The sun dried everything up by noon and it was a lovely June day. The rest of the week looks wet. Fingers crossed for a dry Saturday for my Fairy House activity at Hanover Day.

All hands pleased that the mulch on the garden has been spread on the garden.
