Glasgow taxis day out

Each June the taxi drivers in the city of Glasgow give up their day to taking handicapped children to the seaside town of Troon for the day.

This year there were over 100 taxis and more than 300 children, and they were all having such fun.  I have never seen so many wheelchairs in one place, they were everywhere all over the beach the prom, the town.  I watched some children who were so excited when a plane flew over low after leaving nearby Prestwick Airport, and enjoyed the laughter of a handicapped girl who was cuddling a very large and fluffy dog with the owner's permission, the look on her face was pure joy. !!!

This is a yearly event in the town and they pull out all the stops with lots of decoration around the town, and they make it very special for the children.  Well done!

And the weather was very pleasant, 18C and sunny!
