Minding the babies!

It has been the most amazing day - brilliant sunshine all day - with an occasional breeze keeping the temperature in check.
We went to WWT Caerlaverock, near Dumfries, on the Solway Firth. We're members of the WWT, and Castle Espie is our local centre. It was a fantastic day for a walk at Caerlaverock, but so many of the birds seemed to be in hiding! Not the swallows though - and this one was in and out of the hide feeding the chicks. The nest was inside one of the bird hides :-)
We also visited the Devil's Porridge exhibition, at Eastriggs, near Annan, very interesting and informative - and makes you realise what the, mostly female, workforce went through to make munitions for the army. The whole factory at Eadtriggs covered 9 miles, and it was hard physical labour and also very dangerous.
