The Green Shimmer

Conditions on Tuesday morning were misty again, after heavy morning rains. I was curious to see how Spring Creek was doing, and whether it was running high. So I stopped for ten minutes to check it out.

The water was indeed high, but not amazingly so. Mist was rising off the surface. The sun would peek out a bit later, but not yet, turning all of the humidity into a sauna.

But what caught my eye were the green reflections on the water. I think of them as the green shimmer. Reflections can be so ephemeral. You see them only when the water is still. Like summer: here, and then gone.

Here, and then gone.

The soundtrack song: Jackson Browne, Rock Me On the Water.
