Ready to start #2

A new start after changing the tractor. I started with the old tractor, but couldn't turn the power take-off back on after checking the preservative pump after just 100 metres. The cable between the lever and the gearbox had broken, so had to find another solution.

Luckily we had tried the small tractor with the chopper once before, so we knew it works although it has less power and fewer suitable gear ratios. Better ventilation, seat and radio though, so something to ease the frustration caused by the slower speed.

Bad luck didn't end there though. A lift pin broke before the second load was finished. The rest of the day went quite well, though the chopper was blocked once and the preservative pump caused a couple of stops. I was going to quit for the day after ten loads at about 8 pm, but after seeing the weather forecast with rain for the night and next day decided to go and get one more load in.
