Progress

Here is what this plant's flower looks like today, only two days later. Pretty impressive. First time this desert plant has bloomed. The overall flower body is at least a foot (0.3m) tall.

Texas weather is weird. Yesterday, it reached 89.5F (31.9C) here. Then a cold front blew through last night; today it is windy, only 47.4F (8.5C), with very low humidities and extreme fire danger. Plants and trees have started flowering and new growth, even in February, with some of this warm weather, and the anoles are out and about.
