On a family route march!

A day of rather unpredictable weather but the serious rain did stay away until the early afternoon.

Queens Park has two ponds. Many, many years ago the larger was a boating pond and the rowing boats had pride of place on a summer's day. Sadly, those days have come to an end and the pond is now home to water birds and a model boat club which meets at the weekend. The smaller pond has always been for wildlife.

After circumnavigating the large pond this morning Mr & Mrs Swan walked their youngsters across the path and up the steep grassy bank to the small pond where they have much less room but there is always plenty of weed to eat.
