A Family Went to Sea, Sea, Sea...
For a while, have felt desperate to see and smell the sea - and a good thing about Sutton Coldfield - though it's about as far as you can get from the sea in the UK - is that you can get to the sea and back in a day (NOT true in a lot of Brazil).
So - today - my lovely family took me to the sea. And it was ALL I'd wanted. We stopped on a country lane for a picnic, and a robin (I so love them) sat next to us. Through Wales, it rained and rained, but the green hills studded with white sheep or covered in russet bracken were archetypical Wales, and then, when we got to Barmouth, the rain had stopped and the wind was certainly strong enough to blow all my urban cobwebs away.
Boats, seagulls, seaweed, rusty chains, sand dunes, and the smell, oh, the smell...
And then a Chinese meal served by a Chinese couple - the man wrote our orders in Chinese characters - in a "typical" Welsh pub. Perfect end to a perfect day.
