Keeping cool

With the temperature rising we decided against another coastal walk with Chino and headed for some gentle, shady meanders around a couple of gardens.  Picton Castle and Gardens (thank you Gardeners World for the 2 for 1 entry card) it was more a cosy, come pull up a chair by the fire kind of castle rather than an imposing one (extra) but very nice and peaceful.  And then on to Upton Gardens where there were 2 pea hens, an oh so tidgy baby peacock and oh so handsome boss boy of the brood here.  Keeping nice and cool under the bushes...he wasn't coming out to show off for us but gosh he was looking good.  At one stage he did run across the lawn...he looked like a runaway bride in a beautiful dress!
