On the day my father would have celebrated his 97th birthday. I went to visit my mother this afternoon, something I don't do often enough. Gave me a chance for a blip I wanted to make for a while already.

93 and still looking good, if you ask me. Sound of mind and a little less sound of body. She is aiming to be one hundred some day. I believe she will succeed. She is very independent - living in her own house with no help - and visitors are always welcome. Good thing she's got so many kids. Five sons and three daughters. I am number six. She enjoys the fact that I am a grandparent too, just as I do.
