Turning on a Sixpence

I wonder how old you have to be to have seen a sixpenny coin and understand why it was impressive to "turn on a sixpence"?
Older than Bramble anyway, but if he sees the stick sailing over his head he turns in a very small space.
We were met at the airport by Jan's brother Dave. Once in Blackburn the rest of the family appeared through the day, including the delightful Arthur, the latest arrival,  who is a little over three months old, and the first of the next generation. I'd blip him of course but his parents prefer him not to be on Internet.
After sitting in airports, on planes, and in the car it was fun to take Bramble out for a walk, and encourage him to turn on a sixpence.
