Saturday morning on-call. I was up and waiting (with my cup of tea) at 4:45 this morning.  It was almost dark outside.

I logged on and checked how things were going.  No alarms and no E-mails and most importantly no phone call.  The things I'm responsible for run first thing and so if it goes wrong, it goes wrong early.  Nothing bad happened.

And nothing bad continued to happen all day.

I had people I could phone if things went really badly wrong but I really hoped that I could handle it if they did.  What was nice was the absence of panic.

Oh and the highlight of the day was a book arriving courtesy of ElParsones.  A Vincent Price Cookbook.  I shall be overacting in the kitchen for years. YEARS I tell you....

And the allium has a bit of colour.
