One daze at a time...

Spot on!

These West Cork charmers surely know how to get to a (partly) French man's heart: with either cheese or saucisson. And they  brought both, from their lovely part of the word (The People's Republic of Cork).

I found out that they are both Librarians (what are the odds for a couple, to share the same star sign?!) and that they are more than able for a brisk walk in the sunshine.
I took them past the more colourful part of Dun Loaghaire, past the water yoga (the newest middle-class fad around these parts) and to the end of the west pier, where the sino-polish territorial tensions are rife during the fishing season. But there weren't many anglers today. Just two pier-jumping teenagers, and 100 kg of over-enthusiastic middle-aged blipper hurtling towards the water at speed.

We stopped for light refreshments in Lockies on the way back, and then I had to head off to cook a barbecue. Or perhaps the barbecue. For this is Ireland after all and my getting a 5kg bag of charcoal may have been on the over-optimistic side...

It was great to get to meet with you, Zillah and Michael. The Gubeen has now almost been clattered and the sausages will not live to see the start of the new week...
