Over the fence

This philadelphus in next door's hedge is a pleasant surprise - this is the first year I have seen it showing over the fence. This boundary has a very thick hedge the other side, and I can't imagine that this lovely blossom is visible to them. Sadly it is too high for me to check if it has any perfume.
I've had messages from d.i.l today showing the progress on their back garden. A few weeks ago we helped them with phase one, getting rid of their cherry tree. Until now their small garden has been a playground for three boys, but the boys are grown up now, and the garden can be developed. Now J and M have a deadline, Jake's graduation party in a few weeks' time.
