Big Sister

R.I.P.

The funeral of my sister Beryl was today.  It was good to see quite a few of her friends and compatriots from the U3A, where she was an active member, in the congregation.  The non-religious service was held by a very good celebrant and the mid-session music, Elgar's Nimrod, brought many of us to tears.  The wake was held at the Cross Keys in Cottingham where the staff had laid on an excellent buffet.

It was a cruel fate that took Beryl at the comparatively young age of 75, but cancer is like that.

When we came home I had a look through the photo albums and found this one of me and her on our bikes.  This picture was taken outside the front of our house in Belvoir Street, Hull...the only traffic being a single bicycle.
