Pink Floyd - When the Tigers Broke Free (1982)

Roger Waters of Pink Floyd is an honorary citizen of Anzio, so when posters appeared around the town advertising a Roger Waters Night it wasn't to be missed.

Not the great man himself (although he did provide a very poignant video clip) but a tremendous Pink Floyd tribute act backed by the Anzio Polyphonic Choir played to a packed piazza.

I don't think anyone was left unmoved at the rendition of "When the Tigers Broke Free", an anti-war song penned in tribute to his father who was killed during the Anzio landing of 1944 and who's buried in the military cemetery above the town
