A tiring day

Tomorrow we start heading for home as we don't like the sound of the 40 deg temperatures forecast for France over the next few days.  In the meantime we spent today exploring a couple of sites near Millau.

This morning we visited the Chaos de Montpellier-le-vieux.   This is an amazing area littered with thousands of limestone rocks.   We did a lovely circular walk that took 90 minutes.  It was pretty strenuous in places and ridiculously hot.

In the afternoon we went to the Grotte Dargilan which was equally impressive and also very tiring, although the underground temperature is only 10 deg which was quite refreshing.   The  sheer size and extent of these caves is staggering and they are full of amazing Stalagmites & Stalactites and other concretions (see extra)

We will visit the amazing Millau Viaduct tomorrow morning before heading north.
