Deer and Lyme disease

I heard today of a second friend diagnosed with Lyme disease though they live in different parts of Scotland.

The culprit appears to be ticks carried by deer. And we certainly have plenty of them.

Spotted this shy roe deer in the wild woods opposite, (when they are not munching away in our garden.)

At this time of year Taz gets ticks, which I must confess I have pulled off though now with greater awareness of the danger of Lyme disease I shall only do so with a proper tick remover.

Thanks to Cailleach for hosting Wild Wednesday
