Great Blue Herons

Mom and I went out to the wetlands boardwalk again to see how the nesting herons were doing. There are 3 pair that have babies in the nests all on the same little "island", on separate bushes/ small trees.
This nest is the highest, and this was the best I got of the babies. It's hard to see them when they're sleeping or hiding in the nest, and when the parents come to feed them, they're always moving.

(the Anhinga babies that I blipped there earlier have gotten almost as large as the parents, and are starting to get some adult feathers. Their parents were very busy trying to keep them fed. I also saw a pair of moorhens with 6 very new baby chicks, and the usual variety of birds and turtles, gators, etc.)

The weather was perfect- high close to 80F with a nice breeze.
we also went to the green market/ craft show earlier.
