I looked out a window and saw that a pair of waxeyes had claimed the sugar water. They stood above it shaking their wings to warn off others. A short distance away was this couple, the challengers, also shaking their wings as a threat. They all kept it up for several minutes. Occasionally, as I watched, the female of this pair leant over and gave her bloke a quick peck on the head. (See extra shot.) Since her wings were shaking at a higher rate than his I wondered if she was encouraging him to try harder.

My son cut a lot more wood. I helped a bit. We now have at least a month’s worth of ready to use logs.
