Back home

What a long day. We left Calais and arrived in Folkestone after the tunnel crossing at about 11.30 . Then the M25 was a carpark, the M40 was very slow in places so it took us about five and a half hours to get home!
We had quick cuppa, a shower, put a load of washing on and have just been to our Village Barbecue where we had a great evening catching up with our friends.
One of the first things I did was to go in to the garden and see what has thrived and what has perished during our absence. The runner beans are a disaster, but some lovely hollyhocks have come out.
The extra is especially for Fairweathergirl who sent me some tubers of these lovely alstroemeria a couple of years ago and this year they are doing fantastically well!
