Willow Pattern Shoe

B and I visited the Norwich Museum at the Bridewell today (a Bridewell is described as 'a place to keep and stay idyl persons to somme honest woorke and labor', in other words a prison).  This old building now houses the Norwich Museum, a priceless little place which I want to revisit when I have more time.  Full of information about how the folks of Norwich lived and worked throughout history.
This gorgeous 'Willow Pattern' shoe was made between 1926 and 1930 by James Southall & Company in Norwich, the company later became known as 'Start-Rite Shoes', which is a name I remember as a child.
The extra is looking through one of the beautiful old windows at another beautiful old window in the church opposite.
This museum is in a fascinating quarter of Norwich known as 'The Lanes', definitely an area for further exploration, especially as there is a splendid vintage charity shop right near the museum.

Norwich is a fine old city indeed!
