Big things come in small packages, but people seem quite upset by the whole three films to tell one 300 page novel thing going on at the moment.

Odd comparison. Brideshead Revisited is also about 300 pages long and yet the ten hour TV series adaptation (ten hours!) is considered one of the best adaptations ever made. Different standards? Just a thought.

Anyway this is my dad's 1987 edition of the book (it came with a "50th anniversary" bookmark) not in the best of nick, but well loved, I suppose you could say. I saw the film the other evening and rather enjoyed it. More of the same, but well done.
