9 Rams and a Horse

We thought they would look quite at home on our front lawn and the vet bills would be minimal....

We went with Dana to Cottage Garden Nursery to see what plants we could get to replace all the messy bamboo that will be coming out tomorrow.

I was quite attracted to the idea of big rocks, stone statues and wire and tin sculptures, none of which care if it's sunny or shady or whether the irrigation is working. Not having to dig a hole in what OIlMan calls our 'Valley of the Moon soil' (AKA rocks and clay) is another plus. I've also put another inanimate possibility in extras.

My friend Fran has taken over a Brewery tasting room for her birthday party tonight. It seems to be de rigeur  to give Sonoma county brews quirky names and the ones on offer at Moonlight  are Lunatic Lager, Legal Tender Herbal Ale , Twist of Fate bitter Ale and Guilt by Association Saison. We've been to Moonlight before with Fran and her husband Roy (and their dog, Ziggy) . It promises to be great fun, especially since the weather is beautiful and the tasting room wall can be opened to the outdoors.

I wish I liked beer....
