The Untrained Eye

National Monument?

This is Sedgewick Aqueduct on the now defunct Lancaster Canal which linked Lancaster to Kendal .... many years ago.

We are camping just up the road acting as back up to our intrepid End to Enders. They are getting stronger everyday but have little niggles which make it difficult including neck and knee anxieties.

Their journey today took them from Bolton to Keswick and included one of the Top 100 climbs in the U.K. namely Cross of Greet which they survived with flying colours. But more to come.

We drove at a leisurely pace taking the long route via Forest of Bowland and AOB Yorkshire or something like that! With a break in Settle.

This of course reminded me of our confrontation with the parking barrier in Monmouth just a couple of days but a million miles ago.

And... that’s Mrs UE on the left obviously joining in my pleasure of this monument to our industrious past... maybe...
