Marina Bay Sands Hotel, Singapore

Up earlyish this morning after a good night's sleep.

We fancied the idea of visiting the Botanic Gardens and questioned one of the very well-informed concierge at the hotel. He advised walking to a nearby bus stop and catching the SIA hop-on hop-off, which we did and spent a pleasant couple of hours at the gardens, it had rained over night and rained lightly every now and then, but didn't distract from the pleasure.

Hopped back onto the bus and rode along to Marina Bay, which we visited many years ago when we first visited Singapore. Had a delicious meal Tom Yum and Prawn Toast for me, Beef and flat noodles for MrD. We were sitting opposite the building in today's blip but had little idea of what it was. If you are of a nervous disposition I don't advise reading this article from today's paper....

Found a young man selling ice cream, so had to buy one each - rude not to!!

Continued walking up along the river path until we got thirsty - stopped at The Penny Black, an old London Pub for a cider and beer, then continued walking all the way back to our hotel on Clarke Quay. We dined at the hotel this evening before continuing our riverside walk past the bridge I blipped last night.

Finished off our evening with hot chocolate, in this tropical heat! Another lazy night in our room because we check out tomorrow heading back home in the wee small hours of New Year's Day!

Happy New Year, may 2013 be a good year for all of us. Peace & Love xxx
