Memories of a Car Factory

The site of the old Longbridge Car Factory is enormous and much of it is still waiting to be redeveloped.  I find it sad that they didn't manage to keep some of the old buildings.  There is a new shopping development with a big new Marks and Spencers which is my store of choice of the local branches.  We went there today and en route to Mountain Warehouse found this beautiful plaque showing the layout of the old car works.  Rob started his working life there as an apprentice and he showed me where he would have been.  If you look just to the right of the big K you will see a small building labelled "Planning".  That's where he drew Jig and Tool things.  He did explain what that meant - basically, he has skills that no-one would use now.  He spent some time studying the plan.
