A lovely last day in the northern English summer. Picking Dave’s red currants. Walking the dog in the woods. Being ferried to Manchester airport. Flying homewards. And now driving north in the twilight of midnight in July. We will arrive home around 3 or 4 and the sun will be up! As it gets later it also gets lighter as we travel northwards. The sky looks like an angry old bruise. Yellows and deep blues.
