small magpie moth

I seem to be on a roll with discovering moths. This is a Small Magpie moth and it was fluttering about near the ground under the cosmos plants. It was very obliging and posed like this for at least a minute - long enough to get some photos.
We took Nelly and Ziggy for a really long walk in the woods this morning in the coolness and they loved it. Too hot to work in the garden today so I’ve been playing with photos.
