Totally butterfly

I've been indulging my interest in butterflies all day. It started with a half-day walk over the South Downs with the spaniel produced 18 different species of butterfly including some beautiful fresh Silver-washed Fritillary. In the afternoon I walked the butterfly transect of a friend who is away on holiday, recording almost 400 butterflies in an hour. Then it was on to my own  heathland transect for more recording and now I'm going to enter all that data into the UK Butterfly Monitoring Scheme.
