Weta..

are endemic to New Zealand and are like a giant grasshopper. This is a female tree weta which I was surprised to find on a cupboard door in the garage.  Other species are bigger than this.  I don't mind them but don't like them getting on me as they cling with the sharp claws on their.  It was returned safely to the garden after I took its photo.
