Betty Kenny Tree

Apparently this rather shattered tree once house an entire family: Betty and Luke Kenny and their eight children in the late 1700's. Supposedly Betty's habit of putting her children to sleep in the Yew's branches lead to the nursery rhyme 'Rock a bye Baby.' It was vandalised in about 1930. Other photos of the tree show it surrounded by woodland, that has all been recently felled and the stump stands alone.
