Flourishing

We only have a pond because the electricity board dug a big hole in our garden in the wrong place years ago.

With minimum expense, it’s a flourishing pond, without any filtration or pump. It can’t sustain fancy fish like koi but goldfish, newts and frogs seems to love it.

I pulled out a huge root ball earlier in the year and wondered whether I’d made a grave mistake and killed off the much needed pond plant life. But the lilies are flourishing.

I am going to need to remove the huge amount of silt sometime. I don’t know how to do that.
