Van Gogh

We bought some tickets for the Van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam for 6.30pm this evening. We caught the bus from work to Leiden then the train from there to Amsterdam. We booked a hotel very close to the Museumplein so only had minutes to walk once we had dropped off our bags. The queue for the museum was long but did not take long to file us all into the building. Well organised in true Dutch style. We also booked the multi-media guides, so we collected our headsets and off we went. Several floors, each dedicated to particular years of the artist's life led on to the piece-de-resistance...his Sunflowers painting. The museum was well set-out and although very, very busy, it was very enjoyable and informative. Being able to stand next to his Sunflowers painting actually gave me goosebumps. He painted 5 versions of his Sunflowers, the other 4 are on show in galleries in all corners of the world.
