On the trail of the Mountain Ringlet

About this time every year for the past 20 years or so, Rob has said”let’s go and try to see the Mountain Ringlets”.
Always there has been some reason why it didn’t happen - the weather, holidays, garden etc etc.
Today everything came together (after a quick trip to the vet with Tigger for his boosters. )
We set of for the Kirkstone Pass and hiked up towards Hartsop Dodd where it was rumoured this rare butterfly can be seen.
And there it was - well, we counted around 100 along the path! Also many butterfly watchers, including an ex-colleague of Rob’s last seen on the ferry from the Outer Hebrides some years ago.
It was worth the hike, they are pretty little things and great to see so many.
Pepper had a good walk too and a little swim in a yarn (See extra).
