Dragonflies

I was out with a friend on a visit to Meeth Quarry Nature Reserve.  It was a very warm day and when we first arrived numerous butterflies were moving around so quickly I couldn't see them properly to identify them.  In fact I never did manage to photograph one.  Small turquoise dragonflies (or damselflies) were almost everywhere also moving very quickly through the fields.  After settling down and taking some macro shots of insects we walked further round to an area by a pond.  Here we found more dragonflies that were moving around and then settling or in the case of the blip, copulating.  They are I believe a male and female Black-tailed Skimmer.

An interesting site that we didn't manage to walk all around, so a place to revisit and explore further.
