it looks like a bee - acts like a bee - yet it isn’t one - they don’t sting - they do collect nectar - they’re the most amazing little critters - to observe on a flower

i got my camera - so close because - of course i wanted to - capture those wonderful iridescent - wings glittering in the sun - and the whole time - he paid no never mind to me - simply continued to focus - on the task at hand - of collecting and sipping nectar - i could’ve watched him - forever except my body - couldn’t tolerate being - bent over that long - oh the things which lead to...
