Drumlanrig, Dumfries and Burns

We visited Drumlanrig Castle this morning - home of the Earl of Buccleugh. We did not tour the Castle but walked in the grounds which hosts the biggest Sycamore in the UK, and an oak planted by Neil Armstrong in 1970 - a year after the moon landing. 4 gardeners tend the 40 acres - a rather cut down establishment from the 40 who used to work here.
We then drove to Dumfries for no good reason other than I’d never been there. You can visit then the house Burns lived and died in for free and his grave is nearby.
