Rock Pooling

We had a lovely day in Scarborough. Not the best time of year for birds but nevertheless, still things to see and I had a few shots to choose from, so there are a few in extras - Rock Pipit and Kittiwake. I liked the colours in this Oystercatcher shot but I liked the Rock Pipits, which we suspected had a nest in the harbour wall, and the Kittiwake one is quite comical!
The day didn't end as well as it started. We had planned to get a bus back to the station from Scalby Mill and have a meal close by before catching our train back to Sheffield. We noticed too late that our bus wasn't serving that stop because of a Race for Life event, so we had to walk part way back then get a taxi, meaning we had to forego our supper. The train journey was fine until we got to Doncaster when a delay kicked in due to cabling problems. Our delay wasn't too bad compared to what others were experiencing - cancelled trains and delays of up to nearly 2 hours - but it meant that we missed the tram we were hoping to catch and had to wait 15 minutes for the next one. Again not too bad. They are doing some rail replacement work so our next leg should have been on a replacement bus. No sign of it when we got to the stop. We waited 25 minutes and it still didn't appear. As you can imagine we were not happy bunnies. Finally a regular service bus from another company to our destination appeared and we caught that. That caused us to be £4 out of pocket, but that was nothing to to annoyance we felt at being left high and dry late at night. It was almost midnight when we arrived home, so perhaps you can understand why I'm back-blipping!
