In her good dreams
Harriet is Queen of the Centre Court.

In her bad dreams
her hands hang low and heavy.

She’s up the creek without a paddle.
She’s riding in the Grand National on a horse with no saddle.

Or worse, no horse.

In her scariest wake-up-in-a-sweat nightmares
she’s facing a million-miles-an-hour serve without a racket.

The crowd is making an awful din and doesn’t want her to win.
