Primula

It was love at first sight when I came across this wee beauty in the garden shop yesterday.

There is another Australian native in my garden! A few days ago I heard what sounded like a brown tree frog (Litoria ewingii), sometimes known as the whistling tree frog, though it doesn’t whistle. It had to be a starling and I wondered how far the bird had to go to learn the call. But today I heard it again. There were no starlings about. I tracked the sound to a clump of long grass in the lower level about four metres below the lawn. I couldn’t see him, but there was no doubt about that call. I recorded it on my phone and compared it with examples on the internet. This is the first time I have ever heard a frog of any species in my garden.
