Pootling

A late start meant we caught some heavy downpours in Anstruther and then felt very overdressed when the sun beamed out. It was great to feel heated though.

Just wandered along the harbour front with the heady scent of the country's "best fish and chip shop" haunting our every move - doubtless we'll have to make sure it deserves it's rating ;-) We noticed a couple of houses decorated with attractive patterns in various shells which I've never come across before in a public setting, although I know there was a bit of a penchant at one point for wealthy types to fiddle around with such things. We had to do a food shop and then back to our quarters for a hot tub moment or two.

This evening we played 9 holes at Anstruther GC, as recommended by our hosts. It was a lot of fun with honours even, as I shaved a win by scoring using one system and LH nipped in by a whisker using an alternative method. Given how much better he is than me it has to be said that the handicap system seems to work.

The 1/4 mile track to our house yielded 10 hares (quite a number seemed to be youngsters) and a juvenile grey partridge. That has to be my highest single hare count ever!
