On top of the world

On the hill above Bollstabruk, looking out towards the deep waters of the Ångerman river. We walked with Lis and Rose after lunch on the veranda, with vino verde from Portugal. Paco is in the UK at the moment and it was his and Lis's  wedding anniversary today, so we celebrated. Tomorrow it's mine and Keith's, 35 years to their 45  years.

It was a really lovely day, spent with old friends who have been workmates as well as companions in life. A lot of shared stories, and a lot of new ones  to catch up on. Lis lives in Porto most of the time, but with family in many other places there is a fair amount of travelling - thankfully also to our area.

We  spent the day together and I am now off to my bed, replete on good food,  good company and with my head full of this wonderful view.   The thumbnail  hones in on the evidence of land rise, and how what was one open water  has become land. 1cm higher every year, bouncing back from the last ice age with 3 kilometres  of ice on top of the land here!
