Lancaster Castle, Shire Hall and Skyline.

Went down to Lancaster to collect my wife from the station in Lancaster and to visit family. While waiting for the train to arrive I went to take some images of the area around the castle.

This castle was a prison until several years ago when the prison was closed. It is now a tourist attraction and apparently is doing well. The Main image is what use to be the main entrance into the prison.

The second is of the Shire Hall. The window on the first floor towards the straight wall, use to be a door with a gibbet, this was where the Pendle Witches were hung.

The third image is of the skyline taken outside of the Castle towards the M6 motorway and shows the domed roof of the folly at Williamson's park.
