Stonewall Jackson...Mono Monday

Stonewall Jackson (1824-1863) was a Confederate general in the American Civil War, serving under Robert E. Lee. I had never noticed this headstone in Great Lakes National Cemetery, but it makes me wonder if the General was a distant relative.

Stonewall was a professor at VMI (Virginia Military Institute) in Lexington, Virginia in 1851, before joining the U.S. Army. After many campaigns and battles, he was accidentally  shot by his own troops, losing an arm, then dying 8 days later. We have been to his grave-site in Lexington.

As for the MM topic (low key/high key)...hard to get more low key than a cemetery.
