Hell .........

......... of an airport - in the worse sense of the word (in my humble opinion).

London Luton - hah!  LONDON?  It's 60 miles from the centre of London and can take over two hours to get there from that direction.

The parking charges are extortionate - around £50 (US$62) a day and to just drop someone off is £3 (US$3.75) for 10 minutes and £1 (US$1.25) per MINUTE thereafter ...........

From the supposedly ''on terminal' multi-storey car park it's a walk through a huge car park (and all the spots nearest to the lift/elevators are always first to go), into the lift, up or down depending on the floor, a longish walkway to another lift, down to ground level, along the open area (you'll get wet if it's raining) and into the terminal - which, at this time of year, is absolutely heaving with people hurrying and criss-crossing (whilst having their phones squashed up to their faces - grrrrrr).
Through security and into ................... yep, SHOPS, SHOPS and more damn shops - cleverly designed to make you walk in various curving directions to actually get into the departure lounge where there are even more people and shops ........ can you tell I hate the place???  Lol.

My photo was taken from the Aspire lounge and it looks reasonably sane down there - trust me, looking to the left and right, it was jam packed and nary a seat to be had.  As soon as the gate numbers come up it's like a tidal wave of human flesh going in one of two directions so collisions occur.

I had a lovely (??) Sunday especially as my flight was delayed almost two hours and I got to my first destination hotel at 22.30 and had to be up again at 03.00 to get to another airport for my next flight.
Whoopee-doo..............

........ but weren't the cricket and the tennis fabulously nail-biting to watch!!!!
