Catley Park

I went out on a bike ramble this afternoon, over rutted lanes and overgrown footpaths, along wheat fields, and through a tangled wood. I finally made it to my destination, Catley Park, the site of a long-forgotten country estate that was dismantled and sold off to pay gambling debts in the late 1700s I believe. 

There is still a bit of a derelict barn on the site, as well as a spring fed pond that you can just glimpse through the brambles and nettles. I thought this would make a great shot for Derelict Sunday, which I'm glad to hear has been extended to the full week, thanks to 60plus.
