More attic clearing. Typical of my Dad that the sledge he built for me in the early sixties would be a thing of beauty - streamlined, of course. The new towns were springing up, and the new regional industrial policy and white heat of technology promised to revolutionise our old communities and outdated industries. 
Today we hear that Scotland’s drug-related death toll has increased by 27% over the past year to 1,187 and is now more than three times that of England and Wales and higher than any other EU country. That wasn't the plan at all.
