Dammastock 3630m

After a wonderful night in the tent, we were woken early as a helecopter rescue took place a bit higher up near the Bergseehutte. A climber had the leg trapped in a rock gully, we heard later. So time to take the camera out and enjoy the view that was blocked by cloud the night before.
After a lovely open air breakfast, we packed up all the gear, then headed up to the Bergseehutte, a steep walk with the most amazing views, and had a picnic lunch next to the Bergsee. We all walked down to the car, and the boys headed home. The girls, so my daughter and her friend who are setting off to do the West Highland Way on Thursday lengthened the walk. So now with their full packs, we walked back to Göschenen railway station. A great oppertunity to test the weight and adjust the rucsacs to sit right.
It was really a lovely weekend, hopefully there will be more oppertunities to enjoy being in the alps after the summer holiday.
