International Bodge Merchants

Last week I was sent an invitation to a Webinar.  The theme was something that our team at work was really interested in.  OK my colleagues are all on holiday this week, but I can register for it.

In the invite it stated "Kommende Woche am 17.07 finde um 18 Uhr unserer Zeit ein Webinar zu 'etwas langweiliges'* statt. Das könnte durchaus spannend sein!"    Thatt says "This week on the 17th July at 6 pm a Webinar on the subject Bla Bla takes place. It could be really exciting!"

And exclamation marks notwithstanding I was genuinely looking forward to taking part at 6 p.m - this thing will be a huge part of my working life for the next year or so.  I registered beforehand, and was told that I could join the the Webinar 15 minutes early.

I joined it at 5 minutes to 6 and...

They're showing slide number 24 (there were no further slides) and taking questions.  They have nearly finished.  20 minutes later they have finished.

And so there we have it.  IBM - a company where the right hand does know that the left hand is doing something, it just doesn't have a clue when it's going to be doing it.  Hoof in the swingers all round, chaps.

I really don't need this kind of shit.  And I'm pretty effing angry about it.

*I changed the name - etwas langweiliges means "something boring"
